Un balazo policial terminó con la vida de un hombre tras una persecución en Rosario. El fallecido tenía tres hijos y trabajaba como albañil. Dicen que participó en el robo a una tienda y resistió su arresto. Era oriundo de Santa Elena.
El martes a la tarde dos hombres que circulaban en un viejo Renault 12 blanco fueron perseguidos por móviles policiales bajo la sospecha de ser los asaltantes de una tienda de Larrea al 2200 de la ciudad de Rosario. En la loca carrera, quien conducía el auto particular entró a un callejón sin salida y allí Lucas Santiago Aquino, de 31 años y padre de tres hijos, fue mortalmente herido por un balazo policial en la cabeza. El mismo era oriundo de Entre Ríos, más precisamente de Santa Elena.
Oficialmente se indicó que no hubo intercambio de disparos y que un agente de una dotación del Comando Radioeléctrico que participó de la persecución disparó al observar que la víctima “hacía el gesto de empuñar un arma” contra el personal.
Sin embargo, la familia del hombre contó otra versión: dijo que Aquino, un albañil con trabajo en blanco, fue atacado por la policía. “Los vecinos nos contaron que le dieron la voz de alto, lo hicieron bajar del auto y le dispararon. Tiene un balazo que le entró por detrás de la oreja derecha y le salió por la frente”, contó una amiga de la víctima al diario La Capital.
Mientras se disipan las dudas sobre el hecho, el Ministerio de Seguridad de Santa Fe separó de sus funciones operativas a los dos policías que iban en el patrullero y les inició un sumario administrativo para echar luz sobre el hecho.
¿Gatillo fácil?
Según quien cuente la muerte de Lucas Santiago Aquino, el hombre fue asesinado en el contexto de una persecución policial luego de un robo calificado o en un nuevo caso de gatillo fácil. Entre un extremo y otro, distintas explicaciones y relatos de lo sucedido.
El martes, poco después de las 17.30, una tienda ubicada en Larrea al 2200 de Rosario, a metros de La Paz, fue asaltada por dos hombres. El robo fue de manual. Entraron a punta de arma de fuego, controlaron a una empleada y a un par de clientas ocasionales y las encerraron en un baño. Robaron dinero de la caja y alrededor de 90 prendas de vestir que se llevaron en dos bolsas. Luego subieron a un vehículo y huyeron.
Oficialmente se precisó que un vecino que vio el robo a la tienda y el escape de los ladrones salió tras ellos en un auto particular mientras le avisaba a la central del 911 las calles por las que circulaban. Así comenzó una persecución que se prolongó a lo largo de unas siete cuadras. El Renault 12 cruzó la bocacalle de Gutenberg y La Paz y quedó encajonado en una calle sin salida. La única manera de escapar de la encerrona de los patrulleros era tomar un angosto pasillo que conduce a las vías del ferrocarril Belgrano y que permite el paso hacia Felipe Moré. Un cruce legal desde villa Banana hacia Villa Urquiza. Pero si esa era la intención, ni Lucas Santiago Aquino ni Jaime Ismael I., de 25 años, pudieron concretarla.
Según el Ministerio de Seguridad provincial, ahí Aquino “se resistió a ser atrapado e hizo el gesto inequívoco de que iba a usar el arma que portaba”. Ante eso dos suboficiales que prestan servicio en el Comando dispararon un balazo cada uno y uno de esos proyectiles impactó en la cabeza del hombre dejándolo malherido. Lo trasladaron al Hospital de Emergencias y falleció pasadas las 21.30 del martes.
El comisario Marcelo Gómez, jefe de la Unidad Regional II, narró la versión oficial e indicó que uno de los sospechosos se entregó al escuchar la voz de alto, pero la víctima “hizo un movimiento que provocó que sea herido” por los uniformados.
En ese sentido, Gómez relató que se incautaron en el lugar de la muerte un revólver calibre 38 tipo lechucero y una réplica de pistola calibre 9 milímetros de fabricación casera. “Tres o cuatro horas después este delincuente falleció en el Hospital de Emergencias Clemente Alvarez. No hubo intercambio de disparos y el accionar policial fue como consecuencia de lo que habían hecho estos individuos”, remarcó Gómez.
Asimismo el jefe policial dijo que en el interior del auto en el que iban los supuestos ladrones estaban las bolsas con la ropa robada en la tienda de calle Larrea.
En ese marco, fuentes ministeriales sostuvieron que Aquino y Jaime I. contaban con prontuario abierto. Sobre el primero se indicó que el 25 de octubre de 2018 había sido detenido junto a otra persona en un allanamiento de la División Judiciales de la URII en Felipe Moré al 2400, procedimiento en el cual se secuestró una pistola 9 milímetros con 14 proyectiles en su cargador y uno en la recámara, un cargador de metal con 9 balas, 15 proyectiles 9 milímetros y una moto Yamaha YBR 125 con pedido de secuestro por un robo calificado del 11 de septiembre de 2018. De Jaime I. precisaron que fue imputado por un robo calificado perpetrado en Crespo y Biedma el 20 de junio pasado y otro del 21 de mayo de 2015.
La postura de los familiares
A unos 400 metros del lugar donde cayó herido de muerte Aquino, sus familiares y amigos no tenían consuelo ayer a la mañana. Mientras acondicionaban el modesto comedor para velar a su pariente, desmintieron completamente la versión policial y oficial.
Dijeron que Aquino era un “albañil con recibo de sueldo” y que “no portaba ningún arma porque les temía”. Que el martes fue a trabajar a la mañana y al regresar a su casa a la tarde se encontró perseguido por patrulleros. También indicaron que Aquino no tenía antecedentes y no había estado preso. Que Jaime I. era su amigo pero no residía en el barrio y que era dueño del Renault 12 en el que fueron perseguidos.
“Nosotros tenemos amigos en esa zona que nos contaron que a Lucas (Aquino) lo mataron los policías. Le dieron la voz de alto. Le dijeron que bajara del auto con las manos en alto. Y cuando se bajó le pegaron un balazo en la cabeza. Tiene un orificio por detrás de la oreja derecha que le salió por la frente, sobre el ojo”, dijo una de sus amigas mientras recordaba que el hombre tenía tres hijos de 3, 7 y 13 años.
“Nosotros nos acercamos al lugar porque escuchamos el quilombo de policías. No sabíamos que se trataba de Lucas. Cuando llegamos nos dimos cuenta. Empezamos a pedir que lo llevaran en una ambulancia y la policía decía: “Dejalo que se muera, un caco menos””, relató una de las familiares de la víctima.
Asimismo aportaron un par de videos de los momentos posteriores al ataque a balazos donde puede observarse a Aquino tirado sobre la tierra, del lado del acompañante del auto. “Vimos el auto y no se veían bolsas, ropa ni nada de eso que dicen los policías”, aclararon.
Pericias y autopsia
La investigación quedó en manos del fiscal Adrián Spelta y desde el área de prensa de la Fiscalía Regional se indicó que tras el robo en la tienda los sospechosos “huyeron en un Renault 12 blanco y en Avellaneda y La Paz comenzó una persecución con un móvil policial que los interceptó en Gutenberg y La Paz”.
La información oficial indicó que “los sindicados comenzaron una huida a pie” y que “Jaime I. fue detenido”. En el parte se precisó que “por razones que se investigan, respecto a la mecánica de los hechos, resultó herido en el cráneo Lucas Aquino”. También se sostuvo que Spelta ordenó la incautación de las armas reglamentarias de los suboficiales, que serán peritadas por Gendarmería Nacional.
También solicitó la realización de dermotest a los dos uniformados que llegaron en primera instancia a la escena del hecho, del hombre fallecido y del detenido; el informe de los GPS de los móviles policiales involucrados en la persecución; cartas de incidencia al 911 sobre avisos del hecho; y la toma de testimonios a quienes hayan presenciado el robo.
Spelta ordenó asimismo que el cuerpo de Aquino fuera sometido a autopsia bajo el protocolo de Minessota, un procedimiento que establece estándares de buenas prácticas para investigar ejecuciones extralegales, arbitrarias o sumarias, entre otras.
